Griswolding - is when one takes Christmas to the extreme. Be it lights, decorations, festivities or tacky Christmas sweaters. Some do it for the competition, some do it for the smiles, some do it for family. Whatever your reason, this is the place to "set standards that no family activity can live up to" in the hopes that you can "have the hap hap happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye"!
We lived on the Outer Banks between 2004 and 2006 there is this amazing house in Nags Head that is a Christmas must see. The Poulos family has been sharing their incredible light display for many years and it has brought such joy and happiness to thousands of people. One visit and it instantly becomes a family tradition. Talking with this wonderful family and seeing the incredible smiles on the faces of the people taking in this house just inspired us. As soon as you walk past the first lighted arch you instantly become a kid again. Your worries truly are miles away. You believe in the spirit of Christmas and St. Nick. Its pure magic. One day we too hope to have such a magical display. Where you can't help but smile and your heart goes warm with joy.
